This morning, my coworker & I were talking about grammar boo-boos that bother us most. She said one of hers was "toward" vs. "towards" and I got curious & looked that up. That led to my finding Dr. Grammar. (After that, I emailed her the "alot" site, lol).

Then it occurred to me that a stickied thread of grammar links might be a good thing for this forum :)

So in that vein, here's that other link I always recommend: The O.W.L. at Purdue.

Oooh nice and rather complete compendium of boo-boos and the correct way to write/say them! Good find, Kally.

The Grammar Girl is always a good read.

Great article by Grammar Girl, but the links were topnotch. I hadn't meant to read them all but I was sucked in by the writing and the job that each section performed. I highly recommend reading them to demonstrate how good "show not tell" sections look; on the flip side, the "tell instead of show" bits are, for the most part, brilliant. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, good stuff, Kally. Of course, we have heard it all before, but not with such penetrating examples or such vivid accompanying prose. At least, I haven't. Bookmarking it.
