I am speaking of T.A. Barron's Merlin series. The Lost Years of Merlin through The Wings of Merlin. I read that there are continuations after the series (two more mini series), but I have only read the first five.

Has anyone read the others?

I haven't read these, but I have read the excellent Merlin series by Mary Stewart. If you are a Merlin/King Arthur fan, you HAVE to read these. The first book is called The Crystal Cave and is about Merlin's childhood. The next one is The Hollow Hills and is about how Merlin comes into being a magician and his young adult years, also how he helps Arthur's father sleep with his mother, unbeknownst to the woman's husband. It is just a wonderful saga of intrigue, believable magic (Merlin in this story was a scientist, philosopher, engineer). I loved the entire series, five in all. Go here for more information.

Merlin is fertile ground, in my humble opinion. So much famous material, yet there seems to be a lot of potential in the time before this man knew Arthur. And even after that, you could do some much with him, as many authors have proved.

Oh look, I could get "Mary Stewart's Merlin Trilogy (Hardcover)" used on Amazon for $9.00. I have no problem buying used, unlike some. I might just do that.

Thanks, Raya. :)
