This one gets me once in awhile.
Lead has two meanings, each with a different pronounciation.
Lead (led) as in the lead of a pencil.
Lead (leed) as in to lead someone through a forest.
Then there is Led. Sounds just like it's spelled. Think of Frosty the Snowman.."He led them down the streets of town.."
Every once in awhile, I catch myself using lead (led) and I have to go back and change it.
And I saw it used today when Ron Howard used it in reference to his former co-worker Tom Bosley who died. I know what he was trying to say, but the way it was spelled threw me off. I had to re-read that twice to get it.
There. I got THAT off my chest. I have enough of that already. DOn't need anymore there.
