I just finished re-reading this series for the umpteenth time. There are some typos and some of the writing isn't as good as I remember, but I do love the heroine of the stories.
If you haven't read them & you need a girl-in-charge story, go find these! Crystal Singer, Killashandra, and Crystal Line.

I enjoyed the series, although less so as the books progressed. That was likely due to the somewhat forced romance in the book, but even from a writing perspective, Crystal Line always felt to me like it did not flow smoothly.
Even so, I reread the series every three or four years.
